Ceramic Sculpture: A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
A self-portrait assignment for my hand building course, which had to be focused on some existing societal issue that each individual felt was the most prominent today. I chose to base mine off of the phrase a sheep in wolf's clothing, with the argument that we spend so long trying to be seen as wolves in the eyes of others, that we not only are reduced to sheep by default, but often lose a sense of identity all together.
We are consistently told to remain strong, to stand tall when fighting a losing battle. We know only how we're supposed to be, but when we finally confront our own realities and accept our faults and weaknesses, all too often there's nothing left. A sheep in wolf's clothing. | my writing, which became the conceptual base for my project in a handbuilding studio course.
